failo požymis statusas T sritis informatika apibrėžtis Išorines, sistemos priskirtas, failo savybes apibūdinantis požymis, laikomas ↑kataloge drauge su kita informacija apie failą. „Microsoft Windows“ sistemos failai gali turėti šiuos požymius: ↑archyvuotinasis (a), ↑nekeičiamasis (r), ↑sisteminis (s) ir ↑slepiamasis (h). Failas gali turėti kelis požymius (arba neturėti nė vieno). Failų požymius galima pamatyti pasinaudojus kuria nors failų tvarkytuve. Iliustraciją žr. priede. „Unix“ („Linux“) sistemos failai gali turėti daugiau požymių. Požymiai čia pateikiami triženkliais skaičiais. Pirmasis skaitmuo skirtas turėtojo teisėms, antrasis – grupės teisėms, trečiasis – visų kitų abonentų teisėms apibūdinti. Kiekvienas skaitmuo gaunamas sudėjus visas teises (4 – skaityti, 2 – rašyti, 1 – vykdyti), pavyzdžiui, požymis 754 reiškia, kad turėtojas gali viską, grupė gali skaityti ir paleisti, visi kiti gali tik skaityti. Failo požymiai nustatomi automatiškai arba juos galima keisti rankiniu būdu naudojantis kuria nors ↑failų tvarkytuve.
